Yesterday, the commander of the Northern Command, Major General Uri Gordin, held a situation assessment with the commander of the 98th Division, Brigadier General Guy Levy, and other commanders as the forces advanced to targets in Lebanon at the division's front near the border.

Alongside this, IDF Arabic spokesman Col. Avichai Adraee issued a statement to residents of 23 villages in Lebanon.

""To the residents of the villages: Al-Bida, Bayt al-Sid, Al-Rashida, Mashuk, Al-Batz, Shabriha, Tir Dabba, Al-Barila, Machane Qasmia, Nabi Qasm, Berg Rachel, Abbasiya, Ein Baal, Mharuna, Falia, Deir Kifa, Serifa, Arzon, Dardaya, Dabar Brit Jaber, Jabal al-Adas, Shahur, Barj a-Shamli Hezbollah's activity forces the IDF to act against it. The IDF does not wish to harm you," Adraei wrote.

He added: "For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately. Anyone who is near Hezbollah operatives, their facilities, or their weapons is putting their lives at risk. A house used by Hezbollah for military purposes is likely to be damaged. You must immediately move north of the Awali River. To protect your lives, evacuate your homes immediately. Please note, do not move south! Any movement south may endanger your lives. We will inform you of a time when it is safe to return to your homes.".
