Northern Command Commander, Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin, held a situation assessment today (Tuesday) with Division 98 Commander, Maj. Gen. Guy Levy, and other commanders as the forces advance to targets in Lebanon at the division's front near the border.
During the night, fighters from the combat teams of the Paratrooper Brigade, the Commando Division, and the 7th Brigade under the command of the 98th Division began a focused and demarcated ground operation in several areas in southern Lebanon - with the aim of destroying terrorist infrastructures from which the terrorist organization Hezbollah planned to attack the State of Israel.
During the raids, the paratroopers located dozens of weapons and combat complexes, and fighters from the Egoz unit located a rocket launcher complex and hidden explosives in stockpiles and destroyed an active combat complex of Hezbollah terrorists.
Additionally, over the past 24 hours, the Air Force has attacked more than 100 terrorist infrastructures and targets in support of fighters.
Northern Command Commander, Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin said: "We embarked on the move we embarked on tonight, with 98 leading this move. Targeted attacks against Radwan's deployment areas, against the offensive areas that threaten the northern settlements, to locate them and destroy them. We will take this step so that it is possible to return the residents of the north home, we are determined, you are leading, continue on this path.".
