The important young man, Noam Yechiel, 17, from Ahiezer, a student at the Bnei Issachar Yeshiva, is the boy who was killed this morning (Sunday) on Highway 77, in a terrible accident that occurred during the alarm. Last Shabbat, he was with his friends in the north for Shabbat Chatan, and on their way back to the center, they passed through the Rashbi's Zion. On the way back to the yeshiva, the accident occurred.

His father is the famous singer Erez Yechiel.

Following the incident, the police announced that they had opened an investigation into the circumstances of the traffic accident, and that they were examining the suspicion that the accident occurred after the young man was startled by the alarm that was in the area at the time, which caused his car to swerve off the road.

Early in the morning, the report of the accident was received at the MDA headquarters in the Carmel area. Medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene reported a 17-year-old boy who was trapped in a vehicle with no signs of life and were forced to declare him dead. Yaron Ben Yishai, commander of the Migdal HaEmek station: "I call on all drivers to avoid coming to the north. There are many incidents of interceptors hitting vehicles, many scenes that we are currently handling.".

MDA paramedic Ofer Vinik and MDA emergency medical technician Tal Nixon said: "We arrived at the scene and saw a crushed vehicle. A 17-year-old boy was trapped in the back seat. He was unconscious, not breathing, and had no pulse. After he was rescued, we were forced to declare him dead. A 20-year-old young man was fully conscious and got out of the vehicle suffering from injuries. After initial treatment, we evacuated him to a hospital in moderate to serious condition, and two other passengers were slightly injured and were treated on the spot.".

Dr. Shapir Butner, director of the MDA paramedic school, told Mako that "an alarm can catch us anywhere and in any situation." In the event that it occurs while driving in an urban area, it is important to remain calm and composed. You should stop on the side of the road and reach a protected space, and if there is no protected space available, you should lie down near a wall and cover your head.".

He said that on a highway, one should stop safely on the side of the road, as far away from the lane as possible. "You should get out of the vehicle, lie down on the far side of the lane, and cover your head. If you want to lie down across the dividing fence, make sure it is not a ditch and that the crossing is not dangerous." Dr. Butner emphasizes that if there are children or people with disabilities in the vehicle, they should be helped to get out safely.

He adds that "the closer you are to the floor, the less you will be hurt, because the shrapnel is higher than the ground. According to Home Front Command guidelines, it is important to continue lying down and protecting your head for 10 minutes after the alarm has ended. These guidelines save lives.".
