48 years after the late author Shmuel Argaman wrote 'The Girl Who Escaped from the Monastery' - one of the most popular books ever written for the Haredi public, which deals with the rescue of a Jewish girl imprisoned in a Christian monastery, this week the publishing department of the Yad L'Achim organization released a new book for children that illustrates - through a thrilling story and spectacular comic drawings by artist Ze'ev Sokol - the organization's blessed activity in combating the scourge of the Christian mission.

The new book, which will serve as a preview of a fascinating series of books that will follow, tells of the early days of the organization's establishment, with the blessings of the great men of Israel.

The introduction to the book states, among other things: "Mysterious pursuits, sophisticated espionage, observations in the dead of night, ingenious strategies, dark figures with connections all over the world... These stories, which seem to us to be taken from the section of suspense and fantasy books, were an integral part of the establishment of the Torah-observing and Torah-observing community in the land. Young men and boys who during the day sat on the benches of the Beit Midrash and studied the Torah diligently, under the instruction of the great men of Israel, set out to fight to preserve the Torah and religion with sophistication and dedication, using methods that shamed veteran intelligence organizations. This is the story of the Yad L'Achim activist organization, or in short, 'the activists', which united all parts of the Torah-observing community, without distinction of sectors, courtyards, or yeshivahs.".

Author M.M. Hershkowitz, who wrote the book: "The activists then stood firm against the evil intentions of the Christian missionaries and succeeded, with a small number of people and through smart and precise actions, in stopping the machine that was fueled by huge budgets from all over the world. We hope that the new book will succeed in illustrating to the general public those heroic struggles that succeeded in significantly reducing the missionary menace.".

Yad La'achim says: "The work began decades ago, but it will not end as long as the people of Israel need it, with the coming of the Messiah very soon. These stories are not a thing of the past. Even today, dozens of Yad La'achim activists struggle every day in hundreds of missionary churches spread across the country with the goal of converting Jews to Christianity.".

The organization added: "Along with the fascinating stories, the book celebrates the great work of the founder and chairman of Yad L'Achim for many years, the late Rabbi Shalom Dov Lifshitz, zt"l, who this month will mark the 13th anniversary of his passing. Rabbi Lifshitz was a man of trust among all the great men of Israel and transformed the organization into one that belongs to 'Clal Israel.' Even today, we at Yad L'Achim frequently visit the residences of the great men of Israel from all denominations and circles to consult with them on the methods of activity and to receive their blessings.".

The book is available at select bookstores.
