Efficiency and service improvement: With the beginning of the Month of Mercy and Forgiveness, the Ministry of Transportation - through the National Public Transportation Authority, is increasing municipal service in Jerusalem to enable thousands of worshippers to reach the Western Wall.

The move is being led by Deputy Minister Uri Maklev.

In order to improve efficiency, the municipal service will be extended until 2:00 AM, and will begin operations in the early morning hours.

Within this framework, special transportation lines will be operated: Line 111 will be operated in the evening hours, Line 333 will be operated from the Ramot Junction, and the regular lines 1 and 3 will be reinforced.

Likewise, the 'Kfir' company, which operates the Jerusalem light rail, will increase its activity in accordance with demand.

As part of this, the operating hours of the Jerusalem Light Rail will be extended until 2:00 AM, in order to allow thousands of passengers who wish to reach the remains of our Temple to offer prayers and supplications during the Days of Mercy and Forgiveness.

As every year, this year too, the National Public Transportation Authority is increasing general urban service to various locations across the country, as needed - and this is in accordance with the fixed schedule of the lines.

The city lines will provide service to synagogues and yeshivahs if necessary on the nights of Selichot to allow the crowds of Beit Yisrael to come and pour out their discourse.
