During the visual discussion, which was held with the participation of the suspect and Avni Ya'd's family members, the suspect Mansour began to laugh in front of the family.

His detention was extended until August 27.

Yochai, who served in the Prison Service, was found dead about a month and a half ago, with numerous stab wounds to his body, in his home in New Gibeon. Police forces were called to the scene, along with emergency and rescue personnel.

Following the murder, a joint investigation team was established by the central unit of the Jerusalem District Police and the General Security Service. After initial investigative actions carried out that same day, investigators from the Jerusalem Police and the Shin Bet succeeded in tracing the identity of the murder suspect.

Two days after Yochai was located, on July 10, the suspect in the murder of Ibrahim Mansour, a 22-year-old Palestinian resident of the village of Bidu, was arrested. The suspect was arrested by fighters from the Israel Police's Gideonim unit, with the assistance of IDF forces. After his arrest, the suspect was transferred for joint interrogation by the Shin Bet and the Jerusalem Police Headquarters.

The investigation by the police and Shin Bet reveals that on July 7, during the late night hours, the suspect arrived in the settlement of New Givon without a residence permit in Israel. After entering the settlement, the suspect attempted to break into several residential buildings in the settlement without success.

At this point, he broke into the house that Yochai had rented in the settlement, and entered through the window, while the deceased was sleeping.

A physical struggle developed at the scene between Yohai and the murderer, during which the suspect took a sharp object and stabbed Yohai numerous times until he collapsed on the floor. He later stabbed him with another large knife he took from the kitchen of the house, and while Yohai was dying in the apartment, he stabbed him with another fatal stab in the neck, killing him.

The investigation by the Jerusalem Police and the Shin Bet reveals that after the brutal murder, the murderer stole several items from the apartment and fled the scene with them. Before leaving the apartment, he lit a fire inside it, resulting in a fire that extinguished itself in a short time.

The murderer fled the settlement to Judea and Samaria and, on his way home, burned the items he stole from the deceased's apartment.

As part of the investigation by the Jerusalem Police and the Shin Bet, two additional suspects, relatives of the murderer, were arrested. Their interrogation ruled out their involvement in the brutal murder, which was committed by the murderer alone.

The investigation did not uncover any information that could indicate a connection between Yohai's place of employment at the Israeli Prison Service and the murder, or any possibility of prior acquaintance between them.

The arrest of the murder suspect has been extended from time to time by the military court. In recent days, the investigation was completed by the central unit in the Jerusalem district and the Shin Bet, and an evidentiary infrastructure against the murderer was formed.

As mentioned, today a prosecutor's statement was filed against the murder suspect, and his detention was extended again for another eight days. In the coming days, the Military Prosecutor's Office is expected to file an indictment against him.
