In the difficult year that the people of Israel are experiencing, yeshiva students in the city of Yavne gathered during the last Passover break, at the initiative of Deputy Mayor Rafael Pali Cohen, chairman of the Shas faction in the city council - to perform the song "Give Me Prayer.".

The song, which touched all the hearts of Israel, asks for one simple prayer for success, peace, quiet, and tranquility.

Maestro Israel Sassone was responsible for conducting the mass singing.

Lyrics:

Man, why are you sleeping? Rise up and call out in supplication. The sound of your silence is like a drum in my ears. If I have found favor in your eyes, Father, give me one good prayer that will open all the gates for me. Give me one honest word that will leave me without any air. I want to be hanging by a thread in the middle of the sea, shouting with all my might. Lord of the world, why are you sleeping? Save me...

The song was launched last night at the Margalit Community Center with a premiere screening, with the participation of the boys who performed the song.

Those who accompanied the project were City Council members Yehuda Danino and Binyamin Asher, along with Rabbi Ariel Toledano and Rabbi Uri Doadi.
