15 kindergarten children in the city of Ashdod were sprayed with pepper spray this morning (Sunday) by one of the kindergarten children who thought it was perfume.
The pepper spray was left by his parents in his bag when they went on a trip yesterday.
An investigation into the incident revealed that the child arrived at the kindergarten with his personal bag, and during the day he pulled the bottle with the pepper spray out of the bag.
He was playing with the other kindergarten children and of course was unaware that it was pepper spray. The kindergarten's educational staff quickly noticed this and called the rescue forces.
After brief medical treatment, the children were sent home.
The parents said that last night they went on a family trip and the pepper spray, intended for protection purposes, was put in a bag - and forgotten there.
