Arab affairs commentator Zvi Yehezkeli of i24news explained his view on the conduct of the Israeli campaign in an interview with Radio 103 and contradicted the words of IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari, that "destroying Hamas is a smear campaign in the eyes of the public.".
Yehezkeli said: "If we also look at the story of the Gaza Strip, and I look at things that the IDF spokesman said, and I also look at what is happening in Lebanon, the point here is that in these two arenas, Israel is striving for agreements.".
He said, "It's clear that Gaza will end in some kind of agreement and it's certain that Lebanon will end in some kind of agreement, because there won't be anyone in Lebanon who will say 'We're going to crush Hezbollah' in the war that is supposedly supposed to happen, so I think it doesn't matter anymore. I think that in practice, on the ground, Israel is crushing Hamas.".

He later referred to Heghari's words: "They sound like words of defeat. Those who are strong in the Middle East don't talk about the agreement after and that they can't. We are a democratic society, we expose our weakness to ourselves, right, but we always need to understand, we are listened to, we are seen, we are quoted, and that's not how winners talk. A winner doesn't talk about an agreement, a winner talks about there not being such and such a party, another, to the agreement, on the day after victory. Who are these Hamas? Who are these Hezbollah? That's not how we talk in the Middle East.".
He emphasized: "Do you know how the IDF spokesman in the neighborhood should speak? 'Listen Sinwar, you will be dust and Gaza will be dust and we will show you for what you did to us on October 7th.'".
