A plan to accelerate the economy by integrating ultra-Orthodox men into the labor market: The government today (Sunday) approved a decision-making proposal by Labor Minister Yoav Ben-Zur, in the amount of 70 million, to increase the employment rates of ultra-Orthodox men in the labor market, with an emphasis on encouraging and incentivizing the acquisition of quality education and training and integration into high-paying employment.

The program, with the assistance of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, will lead to the acquisition of basic education through subsidizing studies and developing digitally accessible content.

In addition, the program will implement increased integration into post-secondary education relevant to the labor market and the defense establishment through training, support, and guidance programs.

The program will also support the expansion of support during studies through an income-conditioned loan mechanism, with the allocation of loans giving preference to training with a proven high return on education.

Labor Minister Yoav Ben-Zur: "The government's decision to increase employment for Haredi men is a historic amendment for Haredi society and is another pillar in our activity to meet the goal set by the government - a 651% employment rate for 2030.".

""The employment and wage rates of Haredi men are significantly lower than their rates in the general population, and the wage gap is over 100%. The Ministry of Labor is committed to ensuring wage equality between the populations and maximizing the potential of Haredi society in quality employment.".

""I thank Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri for his vision to bring about an economic transformation in Haredi society, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich for his courageous partnership in initiating the program, and the ministry's Director General Israel Ozan for his work to promote the program.".

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: "While there are those who focus on sowing hatred and division, we focus on actions and promoting what needs to be promoted with partnership and understanding. This is true in increasing employment, and this is also the right way to recruit Haredi men. Increasing the employment rate of Haredi men in the labor market is a common interest for the Israeli economy, Israeli society, and the Haredi sector.".

""From my first day in office, I ensured the approval of plans to increase Haredi employment and integration into the labor market. As a state, we must maximize the working capacity of all segments of the population and thereby strengthen the Israeli economy. I thank Minister Ben-Tzur, Finance Ministry Director General Shlomi Heisler, and all partners in the process.".
