Anyone who reads the Torah stories about the behavior of the Israelites in the desert stands in astonishment at the people's incessant complaints. You came out of Egypt with miracles and wonders, you are now free, you have received the Torah, and you are marching toward the Land of Israel - give thanks morning, noon, and evening!
But no, they complain and start to miss Egypt...
The fighters who leave the Gaza Strip for truces feel the same wonder. While they feel the spirit of victory, striking the cruel enemy with one knee and one hip, ending each battle with a complete victory - they return to the rear and hear lamentation and lamentation.
The studios project a spirit of gloom and defeat, presenting the war as a failure, and creating an atmosphere of hopelessness.
No wonder our enemies can save money and don't need to produce their own programs. They simply translate the defeatist rhetoric on Israeli broadcast channels into Arabic, and broadcast it over and over again.
Unfounded statements
Beyond the service these things provide to the enemy, you stand amazed in front of the piles of lies and statements disconnected from reality, which even a small child can easily refute. Except that the interviewers in the studios have suddenly become a white man who doesn't know how to ask.
Here are some of the disproven statements:
The fighting can be stopped and resumed in a year or two. Really?! Who exactly will allow us to resume the war? Europe? America? The UN? Look how they are trying to tie our hands even in the shadow of the horrific massacre on Simchat Torah. Suddenly we will wake up one morning and announce that we are going back to fighting, and the world will applaud us?!
And suppose it were possible to resume the fighting, what reality would then confront us? Will the terrorists sit idly by in this truce? Will they not learn lessons and prepare for the next round? And how many of our best sons will pay, God forbid, with their lives for this?
The state can and should deal with releasing murderers from prison. They claim that for our precious captives, 'any price' must be paid, including the release of the serious murderers from prison. And when you ask, won't they return to planning and carrying out attacks that will claim the lives of many more Jews, you are told that the state must deal with this.
Well, the way for the state to deal with this is by catching the murderers and putting them in prison. The state did this, out of the ferocity of our best fighters. Releasing the murderers free is the complete opposite of dealing with the challenge.
You can't let a pack of predatory animals loose and not expect an unfortunate outcome.
The only way
A political settlement needs to be reached. A real spectacle. What kind of arrangement? Like Oslo, whose clauses the Palestinian Authority violates almost? Like UN Resolution 1701 regarding Lebanon, whose nature the situation in the north testifies to? Like all the agreements with Hamas, which were violated every time the terrorists felt like launching missiles at our communities and planning the terrible massacre?
Is there any sensible person who does not understand that defeating the enemy and achieving complete victory is the only way to deter our enemies, return the residents of the South to their homes, and remove this constant threat from our heads? Stop the spirit of discouragement, give encouragement to the fighters, and with God's help we will win!
