US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew hopes that the firm American response to the request for arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant will cause the panel of judges at the Hague court to reject the prosecutor's request.

In a special interview that will be broadcast tomorrow on 'Good Morning Israel' with Efi Trigger on IDF Radio, the ambassador spoke about the administration's sense of rejection from the scandalous request: "When President Biden describes the orders as 'scandalous and shameful,' it reflects the deep rejection we have towards them.

""The United States is questioning the legitimacy of the procedure, in a way that I hope will also have an impact on the jury - which will have to decide whether to approve the request or not.".

The ambassador also expressed optimism regarding the ongoing talks between Israel and the United States on the continuation of the military operation in Rafah: "There have been good talks in recent days between the parties in Israel and the United States, including an understanding regarding the need to protect the population in the area, most of which has been evacuated from there, and regarding the scope of the operation, for example whether a more focused operation can achieve important goals.".
