A force of soldiers from the ultra-Orthodox Arrow Company was stationed in a nearby three-story building, with the Samgad Commanding Officer on the first floor.

The tank racks were closed, for fear of being fired upon - an action that makes it difficult to navigate the space - and in the evening, one of the tanks spotted a cannon peeking out of the window and fired towards the building where the fighters were staying, directing another tank - which also fired. Two shells hit the building.

As a result of the accidental shooting, the company commander and four soldiers were killed. Eight soldiers were injured, three of them in serious condition.

The IDF still does not know how the shooting took place, despite the defenses and precautions. It is being investigated why no coordination and verification was made before the shooting, as the forces have a command and control system that indicates the location of IDF and enemy forces.

The IDF is investigating the incident. The investigation will continue, both within the armored force and among the paratroopers.

Among the questions that will be clarified are: how the force was positioned in the area, what instructions were given, and what the boundaries of the sector were given to it.
