Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh announced this evening (Monday) to Qatari and Egyptian mediators that he agreed to the "ceasefire conditions."
However, senior Israeli officials clarified that "Hamas did not agree to the proposal discussed between Israel and Egypt, and Israel was not presented with any deal. This is a deception by Hamas aimed at presenting Israel as refusing to make a deal."
Israel has not yet officially responded to the terrorist organization.
Despite this, opposition leader Yair Lapid was quick to respond and blame the government: "A government that wants to return the kidnapped is now calling an urgent debate and sending the teams to Cairo, not hysterically issuing three different briefings from different parties and crushing the hearts of the families. A national disgrace. There is no limit."
MK Moshe Saada of the Likud attacked Lapid for the disgraceful tweet: "There has never been a leader of the opposition as promiscuous as Lapid, and even more so at a time when Israel is at war. A dangerous tweet that does a PR service for the Hamas murderers and their psychological exercises, all in the name of political gain and attacking the government. Shame on you!"
MK Dan Illoz of the Likud also attacked Lapid: "Yair, be careful with your words. I assume that's not your intention, but with your obsession with attacking the government at all times, you're simply doing PR services for Hamas and its delusional proposals."
Families of abductees from the Tikva Forum, which supports increasing military pressure on Hamas, said: "The only deal the State of Israel can afford is a responsible deal that will return all the abductees in one fell swoop. After the Holocaust, we will not allow selection among Jews. The abductees have no time for blows."
