According to the newspaper, the source was briefed by the security establishment before the attack. In addition, another source told the newspaper that the purpose of the attack was to demonstrate Israel's ability to strike inside Iranian territory.

Official American sources also confirmed to US media networks that Israel attacked an Iranian Air Force base in the Isfahan province last night.

A US official told ABC News that Israeli missiles hit a site in Iran. A US official confirmed to CNN this morning that Israel did indeed carry out an attack in Iran, and that the target attacked was not a "nuclear target.".

Channel 14 reported that during the attack, an area known as Wing 8 at the Revolutionary Guards Air Force base in Isfahan was bombed. According to one report, 9 different targets were attacked both at this base and nearby.

Sources connected to the Revolutionary Guards confirmed that Israel attacked the city of Kajavarstan in Isfahan province.

The Arab newspaper Al Arabi Al Jadeed reported on behalf of a Revolutionary Guard source who claimed that this was an "action by the Israeli Mossad." At the same time, a senior Iranian official told the British news agency Reuters: "It is not yet clear who is behind the attack in Isfahan," and "there is no plan for an immediate response.".

Officials in the Isfahan province in Iran told Channel 14 reporter Dror Balzada that, contrary to publications on Iranian networks, the city of Isfahan has alarms and the city's defense systems are on high alert.

In Iran, where they are trying to "dwarf" the event, they talked not about missiles or planes - but about a drone attack that didn't even reach outside the country's borders.

The Iranian news agency 'Iran' reported that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived at a mosque in the city of Isfahan, in whose province the attack took place, participated in Friday prayers and held talks with the city's residents.
