Last week, IDF and Shin Bet forces under the Northern Brigade Command in the Gaza Division carried out a targeted operation in a civilian area in Beit Hanoun, following intelligence indications of the presence of terrorists in the area.
Battalion 890, Battalion 97, engineering forces, armor, the Shaldag Unit, Unit 504, and Shin Bet forces took part in the operation - they raided two buildings that were used as schools, following intelligence information indicating the presence of terrorists from the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations in the buildings and that they were using civilians staying there as human shields.
Before the forces entered the building, they announced and called for the evacuation of civilians from the building, for their safety.

The fighters arrested a number of terrorists from the terrorist organizations in a targeted and precise manner, while avoiding harming the civilian population in the area.
During the operation, several terrorists who attempted to harm the forces were eliminated.
