Data from the Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva shows that in the past six months there has been a significant jump in pancreatic cancer diagnoses and surgeries - to the point of needing to recruit teams to cope with the workload of surgeries.
According to a report this evening (Monday) by Kati Dor on 'Kan News', in the years before the 'Iron Swords' war, an average of four such surgeries were performed each month, but recently the number has jumped to an average of ten to 11 surgeries per month - an increase of more than 200%.
The first quarter of 2024 saw an increase of 53% compared to the same quarter the previous year.
The data also shows a 30% increase in the frequency of reports of dizziness, hair loss, and obesity.
Doctors believe that the data is related to the war, although it has not yet been studied whether the increase in the incidence of medical conditions is related to stress, diet, or changes in lifestyle during the war.
