The chairman of the Religious Zionist Party, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, summoned his party's ministers and Knesset members this morning (Monday) for updates and urgent consultations in the Knesset.

According to a Channel 7 report, this is a step aimed at making clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu the dissatisfaction with the significant dilution of forces in Gaza - as well as with the currently proposed outline of the deal being formed to release the hostages.

Earlier, a senior Egyptian official said: "There has been progress in the talks in Cairo and there is agreement on the main issues between all parties.".

The Egyptian channel "Al-Qahara Al-Akhbariya" reported that the Hamas and Qatari delegations have left Egypt, and will return there in two days to summarize the final terms of the deal.

The report also said that the Israeli and American delegations have also left Cairo and that consultation talks between the parties will continue over the next two days. The Egyptian report was not confirmed by any official source.

Israel has refused to officially comment on reports of progress in the talks, but a political source familiar with the details is dismissing the reports, claiming: "The distance is still great.".

According to 'Kan News', the source clarifies that the Israeli delegation was originally supposed to return to Israel at the end of the summit in Cairo, and says that only in the coming hours and days will it be possible to know whether there has indeed been any progress, even if only a small one.
