The Great Rabbinical Conference of the City of Modi'in, Maccabim-Re'ut

The large rabbinical conference of the city of Modi'in, Maccabim Re'ut was held this week at the "Meir-Harel" Hesder Yeshiva in the city. The conference was attended by approximately 40 rabbis from the city, community rabbis, and rabbis from the city.

The large rabbinical conference of the city of Modiin, Maccabim Reut was held this week at the Hesder Yeshiva 'Meir Harel'. More than 40 rabbis from the city and residents attended. The conference was honored with the presence of the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau, and the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, MK Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan. Also participating in the conference were the city's rabbis, Rabbi Eliyahu Al-Harar, Rabbi Yaakov Tsakotai, and the head of the Hesder Yeshiva hosting the conference, Rabbi Col. (res.) Eliezer Schnewald, Council Member Baruch Buchnik, and Deputy Mayor of Modiin, Michael Harlap. The conference was moderated by Rabbi Chaim Dovrat

The conference opened with a welcome speech by Chief Rabbi Rabbi David Lau, who spoke about the importance of the gathering and the exchange of opinions among the rabbis in areas that concern all residents of the city. He was followed by a welcome speech by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs MK Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan, who was happy to meet a large number of rabbis from the city who had gathered and came at the beginning of the day to discuss various issues concerning residents and activities in the city.

One of the highlights of the conference was a panel on the topic of "The Role of a Community Rabbi in Our Time" with an emphasis on the communities in the city. The panel included Rabbi Gideon Weizman, Rabbi of the "Mercaz Modi'in" community, Rabbi Mordechai Biton, Rabbi of the "Ohel Rachel" community, and Rabbi Shlomo Sobol, Rabbi of the "Sha'arei Yona Menachem" community. The speakers at the panel focused on special activities and special things that distinguish the city's residents, on bringing hearts closer together, and on the shared desire for broader collaborations between the rabbis. The guest of honor at the conference was Rabbi Yoel Ben Nun, who gave a very interesting lecture on the topic of "The Shmita Revolution" in preparation for the upcoming Shmita year and the coming one next year, as well as the desired assessments for the Shmita year. The conference also featured another panel on the subject of Torah luminaries of the last generation, in which Rabbi Yaakov Tsakotai spoke about Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, zt"l; Rabbi Baruch Slonim, rabbi of the Chabad community of Modi'in, about the Lubavitcher Rebbe, zt"l; Rabbi Shaul Arnoff spoke about Rabbi Yosef Soloveitchik, zt"l; and Rabbi Chaim Ozer Hayat, Rosh Yeshiva of Migdal HaTorah, spoke about Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, zt"l.

At the conference, the rabbis spoke about the great importance of holding the conference and the desire to increase cooperation between the rabbis.
