The Ombudsman for Judges, Uri Shoham, announced today (Wednesday) in a precedent-setting and unusual manner, that Supreme Court Justice Khaled Kabub sat illegally and made a decision in a case concerning his children - and that the Supreme Court Justice's version should be questioned.
In response to the complaint by the Lavi organization and the organization in its image, the Ombudsman wrote about the judges: "One must be puzzled" about the version of Supreme Judge Khaled Kaboob, "since, to the request for an injunction and injunctions, a compromise agreement was attached in which the judge's children appear as representatives of the defendants and his son Walid Kaboob signed as the one who approved it. I believe that a review of the case in question and its appendices (although they are numerous), as the judge himself indicated in his decision that he did, would have easily revealed that his children are connected, either directly or indirectly, to the proceedings, and that he should not have heard the case, and certainly not have made any decision on the matter.""
The complaints were filed with the Ombudsman for Public Acceptance of Judges, after journalist Avishai Greenzig revealed on Kan News the serious findings regarding Judge Kabub's conduct.
The Lavi organization calls on the Judicial Selection Committee not to accept a judge who abused his position and acted in a conflict of interest, but to act in accordance with its authority and order the dismissal of Supreme Court Justice Khaled Kabub.
Let us recall that, according to reports by Avishai Greenzig in Kan News, Supreme Court Justice Khaled Kabub was documented in a series of posts on social media, which promote the law firm of his daughter Miriam Kabub, which allegedly violates the rules of ethics for judges.
