Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: At the Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Rabbi Avraham Shor, a resident of the Sanhedria neighborhood in Jerusalem and an elder and prominent Pittsburgh Hasidic, passed away on Saturday night at the age of 92 after a serious illness.
The late Rabbi Zt"l was born in Manchester, England, to his father, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Shor, and immigrated to the Holy Land about 60 years ago, settling in Bnei Brak, where he lived for decades, until he moved to live near his children in the expanded Sanhedria neighborhood in Jerusalem.
The Pittsburgh Hasidic community said that the deceased "was connected in heart and soul to our holy brothers, Zia"a, and to the Rebbe, Shlita.".
He left behind his widow and a blessed generation of righteous people: children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who follow the path of Torah and commandments.
Among his children: Rabbi Ezra Shor, candidate for the Agudath Yisrael faction in Ashdod.
His sister was Mrs. Esther Weinhuis, wife of the late Rabbi Shmuel Anshel Weinhuis.
His funeral left this evening (Saturday) at 9:30 PM from the Shamgar Funeral Home in Jerusalem for Mount Hamunehot, where he will be buried.
