This morning (Tuesday), a letter was published by members of the Council of Torah Elders of Degel, and hundreds of yeshiva heads from all denominations and circles, in a dramatic call calling on all denominations and circles to vote for the Degel Torah list in all cities across the country and for all Degel Torah mayoral candidates and those supported by Degel Torah.
The rabbis of Israel note in their letter that this is a campaign against religion, with issues of putting religion on the line, and the danger of uprooting everything sacred and precious to us, at stake. "These elections are about the character of every city," the yeshiva heads write, and recall that the rabbis of Torah have always been quick to come and vote for the party that will ensure the education of our sons and daughters in the sacred path from generation to generation.
The great men of Israel conclude their letter with a blessing: "All who support and vote for the above lists are indeed blessed, who will establish the words of this Torah, and those who are able to help are indeed the beneficiaries of many, and the rights of many will depend on them. And all who help to continue to uphold the religion of the Torah in their city, we pray that they and their families will be granted all the good from the source of abundance.""

The day of the municipal elections to be held in Gaza on Tuesday, the 18th of Adar 1, 5774, is approaching, and since many issues of strengthening and putting religion on the line are at stake in these elections, and on the other hand, there is a danger of uprooting everything that is holy and precious to us, and this has great significance for the character of every city. As is known, the great Torah scholars have always rushed to come and vote for the list whose representatives will ensure, first and foremost, that a Jew will be able to educate his sons and daughters in the sacred way from generation to generation, and that the religious authorities will not trample with pride all that is sacred to us. We appeal to our brothers, Bnei Yisrael, on every website and the Haredi website, from all denominations and circles, to support and vote for the Degel Hatorah list in every place, as well as in places where representatives from Degel Hatorah or lists that Degel Hatorah clearly supports appear on local lists, such as in the cities of Ofakim, Azor, Elad, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheba, Beit Shaan, Beit Shemesh, Beitar Illit, Bnei Brak, Bat Yam, Givat Zeev, Gan Yavne, Dimona, Herzliya, Zichron Yaacov, Hadera, Holon, Haifa, Harish, Tiberias, Yeroham, Jerusalem, Karmiel, Lod, Modi'in-Maccabim-Reut, Modi'in Illit, Mazkeret Batya, Ma'ale Adumim, Ma'alot, Nof HaGalil, Netivot, Netanya, Emmanuel, Afula, Petah Tikva, Safed, Kiryat Ata, Kiryat Tivon, Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Yearim, Rosh HaAyin, Rishon LeZion, Rehovot, Rechsim, Ramat Gan and Ra'anana.
And also to support and vote for the candidates for mayor: Beit Shemesh - Rabbi Shmuel Greenberg, Modi'in Illit - Rabbi Yaakov Guterman, Rechsim - Rabbi Yitzhak Reich, Kiryat Yearim - Rabbi Yitzhak Ravitz, and the candidates that Degel Hatorah supports for mayor: Elad - Rabbi Yisrael Porush, Beitar Illit - Rabbi Meir Rubinstein, as well as the mayors that Degel Hatorah supports as will be published in the coming days in Gaza.
And all who support and vote for the above lists are indeed blessed, who will establish the words of this Torah, and those who are able to help are indeed the ones who benefit the many, and the right of the many will depend on them. And all who help to continue to preserve the religion of the Torah in their city, we pray that they and their families may be blessed with all the goodness from the source of abundance, success, and prosperity, and that the Redeemer of righteousness will soon come in our days, Amen.
