At the end of the police investigation: A prosecutor's statement was filed today (Sunday) in the Haifa District Court against a 49-year-old Haifa resident, on suspicion of murdering his wife Rachel Bohbut, 39, on the 15th of Tevet.
Haifa police were called to an apartment on Nissenboim Street in the city's Neve Sha'anan neighborhood after receiving a report of a violent incident. The officers who arrived at the apartment found a lifeless woman inside, with stab wounds on her body.
Within a short time, the police arrested her husband on suspicion of involvement in the murder and he was brought to the police station for questioning - at the end of which he was imprisoned.
In accordance with the findings and evidence, the Haifa Magistrate's Court extended his detention from time to time. Today, as stated, the Haifa District Attorney's Office filed a prosecutor's statement against him prior to filing an indictment and a request to detain him until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
The husband is suspected of attacking his wife and the mother of his three children in their home while holding a knife in his hand, and stabbing her several times.
Their 15-year-old son, who was at home, tried to protect his mother and prevent his father from harming her, but was stabbed himself and was slightly injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Later, a social worker arrived at the apartment, and with the assistance of rescue forces, they removed the other two children from the apartment, a boy and a girl under 10 years old.
