Following a joint investigation by the National Cyber Directorate, the IDF, and the Shin Bet, it emerged that a cyber group from the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, with the involvement of a Hezbollah cyber group, were behind the attempted cyber attack aimed at disrupting the Ziv Hospital in Safed about three weeks ago.

Through joint efforts by the cyber division, the IDF, the Shin Bet, and the Ministry of Health and hospital teams, the attack was stopped before it could achieve its goal - to disrupt the hospital's operations and harm the medical care of civilians.

However, it was found that the group stole some of the sensitive information stored in the hospital's systems.

The investigation revealed that the AGRIUS cyberattack group, which belongs to the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, attempted to carry out a cyberattack on Ziv Hospital in late November 2023 with the aim of disrupting its ongoing operations, against the backdrop of the Iron Swords War.

The attack was carried out by the Ministry of Intelligence with the involvement of a Hezbollah cyber unit called Lebanese Cedar, led by Muhammad Ali Marri.

The attack was stopped at an early stage, thus preventing an attempt to harm the functioning of the hospital and the potential for humanitarian harm to civilians.

However, the attackers managed to take materials from inside the hospital and began posting them on social media. In joint efforts with the State Attorney's Office to protect patient privacy, the social media channels where some of the sensitive information was posted were removed.

It should be noted that the leaked information is subject to a publication ban to protect the privacy of patients.
