We must be united and focused on the essential mission: total destruction.

This time, unlike previous 'rounds,' there is a feeling that they intend to actually implement to the end the strong statements about destroying the monstrous evil that has grown in the Gaza Strip.

After the horrific massacre on Simchat Torah, it is clear to any thinking person that it is impossible to live alongside a population whose sole interest is digging terror tunnels and building up power for the purpose of murdering Jews. It seems that this time they intend to carry out the extermination of Amalek without compromise.

However, as the ground operation progresses and the noose of our forces tightens around the necks of the murderers, we will increasingly see the world mobilize to save them. They will ask for a 'humanitarian ceasefire,' a fuel injection, a temporary ceasefire, and other fine words, as long as they prevent the destruction of evil and wickedness.

This is the stage where we must all stand united as a rock and not agree to any halt or concession, but rather move forward until the mission is fully completed.

Complete the 'analysis''

In previous campaigns, the Lubavitcher Rebbe cried out from the depths of his heart that action is begun, blood is shed, and then stopped before it is completed. For example, he said this during the scuffle around Beirut, during the First Lebanon War:

""After they have already begun and put the army in the current situation – of course, it is necessary to complete the operation in its entirety. And an analogy of what this is like – for a soft-hearted person who enters an operating room and sees doctors starting to operate on a patient, and seeing the first drops of blood, he will begin to beg the doctors to stop operating on the patient, and wait until the patient returns to normal, then operate on him again, and so on. It is simply understandable what the doctors' reaction would be to such an idea! (...)

""We are standing in the middle of the 'surgery', which has already been largely completed, with hundreds of victims, may God avenge their blood, and hundreds of wounded. And yet there are those who think that in order to bring about a state of peace and the like, we need to stop in the middle of the 'surgery', and not cleanse the infected place!".

Our hearts ache for every soldier who falls in battle, but our soldiers went to this war to win it and destroy the cruel enemy that rose up against us. They did not go to risk their lives so that the decision-makers would succumb to some pressure or another and stop the 'surgery' in the middle, before all the malignant metastases were cleaned out.

Therefore, we must not fall into the trap of internal debates now. We must all be united and focused on the essential task – the total destruction of the forces of evil.

The light will overcome the darkness.

Alongside the fighting inside the Gaza Strip, a difficult battlefield is being fought throughout the world.

Chabad emissaries, who are gathering this week for their annual global conference, are on the front lines of this fighting. They appear in the media and present our position against the lies of the enemy. They strengthen Jewish communities against threats and manifestations of anti-Semitism. They face security challenges that are becoming increasingly complex.

Hundreds of Shluchim on campuses across the US and Europe are conducting outreach activities, in an effort to sway global public opinion to our side and to understand the righteousness of our struggle. Despite the difficulties, they are recording many achievements, and the rule that guides them is the Hasidic proverb - a little light repels much darkness.

In the end, there is no doubt, the light will triumph!
