Tragedy in the ultra-Orthodox city: Meir Ram, a two-year-old toddler, was run over to death this evening (Thursday) in front of his mother by a Kavim bus on Avni Nazar Street in Modiin Illit.

Rescue forces called to the scene performed tests on the toddler, who had suffered multiple systemic injuries, but he showed no signs of life and unfortunately had no choice but to declare him dead.

MDA paramedic Benny Joseph: "The toddler was lying on the sidewalk unconscious and suffering from multi-system damage. We performed medical examinations, but his injury was fatal and we had no choice but to declare him dead at the scene.".
Michael Yakubovich, a ZAKA volunteer, said: "This is a very difficult scene. A two-year-old child who went down to the road was run over to death by a city bus. ZAKA Modi'in Illit volunteers are taking care of the dignity of the deceased, the baby's body, and collecting the findings at the scene.".
The funeral of the toddler, the son of Rabbi Mordechai Ram, will take place tonight at 10:00 AM at the Rehovot Cemetery.
