Following operational situation assessments that are held daily under the leadership of the Commissioner and with the participation of the senior command staff of the Prison Service, it was decided to reduce the living conditions of terrorists imprisoned in prisons across the country, for operational reasons, in order to maintain the security of the prisons and the prison staff, as well as to thwart and prevent the targeting of terrorists from within the prisons.
As part of the operational efforts, the Commissioner ordered that security prisoners enter a "lockdown" state (closed in cells), restricting movement and preventing contact with the outside world.
Among other things, the organization took the following actions for operational reasons:
1. Preventing access to canteen purchases.
2. Reducing the activities of security prisoners in the wings.
3. Freezing the institution of the Speaker.
4. Cutting off the flow of electricity in the sockets in the security cells in order to thwart contact with the outside world through illegal means.
5. Removal of electrical appliances, including radios and televisions.
6. Disconnecting the media from the cells and the public space.

Since the beginning of the fighting, the Prison Service has increased security around and within the detention facilities, with the help of fighters from the Nachshon Unit and the IPS special units, as well as prison guards and security fighters in the organization, and has increased routine operations, including searches and surprise operations.
Prison Service Commissioner: "At the same time, fighters from the 'Masada' headquarters unit fought shoulder to shoulder with the IDF, eliminating terrorists and rescuing and treating civilians. The current situation is one of wartime activity. Since the 7th of the month, we have taken in 800 prisoners, of whom 500 are terrorists.".
As of this time, the Commissioner of Prisons has directed the deployment of the unit's teams throughout all security facilities to reinforce operational activities and routine tasks.
