Ron Kofman makes a scathing statement about the Haredi: 'They are the cancer of the public''

Media personality Ron Kofman caused a stir this morning (Tuesday) after making an outrageous statement on the morning show he hosted alongside Yinon Magal on 103fm radio - that the Haredim are "cancer.". Deputy Finance Minister, MK Michal Waldiger, responded to the outrageous statement: "Ron Koffman is known as a man with a big mouth, but his statement today must cost him his seat. Every line has a red line. The Haredi are not a cancer, they are a beloved and precious sector. "Maybe it's worth visiting an oncology ward before you blurt out such insults.".

The chairman of the Health Committee, MK Uriel Bosso, responded: "We will continue to ensure that your grandson, who is studying at the Chabad kindergarten, receives the best.".

Media figure Avi Mimran tweeted: "We need to 'cleanse' 13% from the public. Ron. How do you clean thirteen percent of the population? Gas chambers? Extermination? Transfer?""

Shai Glick, CEO of the 'In Your Picture' organization, quickly contacted the Ombudsman in the Second Authority, David Regev, demanding that a violation and suspension procedure be initiated against Koffman. "I don't even have words to express my shock that a broadcaster in the State of Israel, the state of the Jews, dares to call his brothers and people the worst word in the arsenal of words, 'cancer.' The word cancer means a foreign body that enters the body and consumes it. "This man must be suspended immediately, the authority should initiate a violation procedure, and I hope that while he is suspended he will go around the cancer wards in the hospitals, see the amount of Haredi volunteering and realize for himself how wrong he was, apologize, and start volunteering in these organizations." Following the complaint from Belmo, the Ombudsman in the Second Authority, David Regev, stated that the Ombudsman has initiated an investigation into the complaint and initially contacted the station to receive its response. The Second Authority later announced: "The Second Authority has initiated an alleged violation proceeding against Radio Station 103, following the words said on air this morning by broadcaster Ron Kofman.".
