An active Hezbollah terrorist cell has been exposed in Thailand, according to a report on the website stop910.com, which is designed to monitor and expose terrorist activity in the country.
According to the report, which has not yet been officially verified by Thai authorities, one of the operatives is Yousef Eid, a Shiite Muslim of Filipino origin who belongs to Hezbollah's international operations unit in the East Asia region. The other two, whose roles in the cell were not disclosed, are David Farhat and Bilal Bakhosn.
According to the Lebanese Daily Star, which also relies on the report, the three, who were engaged in intelligence gathering, were arrested by local authorities. Ayed, it was reported, is a Thai citizen.

Despite the report, it is worth noting that the Counter-Terrorism Headquarters has not issued a travel warning regarding Thailand, with the exception of general guidelines from the Foreign Ministry for travelers abroad. The only travel warning refers to the south of the country: "Following violent clashes between the Muslim population and the regime in southern Thailand, there is a serious and ongoing threat to the safety of visitors, including Israelis, in this region. There is also a concern that terrorist organizations will join the Muslim rebels with the aim of harming tourists, including Israelis, in southern Thailand. Therefore, the Counter-Terrorism Headquarters recommends that Israeli citizens avoid any visit to or stay in southern Thailand, south of the latitude between Thammarat and Krabi.".
