Rescue forces treated and evacuated 28 boys, aged 15-17, who had inhaled smoke to Mayanei Hayeshua, Schneider, and Tel Hashomer hospitals. All are in mild condition.
The fire broke out at around 3:52 a.m., after an electrical cabinet in the boarding school caught fire. The yeshiva students were trapped in the building for several minutes - until they were rescued.
The yeshiva's goods supplier who arrived at the scene saw the fire, woke the boys up, and called the fire and rescue forces.
Crews from the electric company arrived at the scene to treat the electrical cabinet.
MDA emergency medical personnel David Itzhaky and Yehuda Nordman said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw a lot of commotion and smoke coming out of the building. About 50 yeshiva students who left the building suffered from smoke inhalation. We performed initial triage on the scene for the injured, all of whom were fully conscious and in mild condition.
""28 of the young people required evacuation to a hospital and were evacuated in MDA ambulances while continuing medical treatment.""
