A Border Guard soldier was moderately injured today (Tuesday) in a shooting attack carried out near the Argaman Junction in the Jordan Valley. The terrorist was shot dead by Border Guard soldiers who were searching for him.
According to Palestinian sources, the terrorist who carried out the attack in the Jordan Valley is Muhammad Zabidat, 16 years old from Jericho.
The incident took place about two hours after a Palestinian opened fire at a restaurant at the intersection at the entrance to Jericho, and IDF forces pursued him. There were no casualties as a result of the shooting. An examination conducted indicates that it was most likely the same terrorist.

The investigation into the events in the Valley of the Dead indicates, according to an IDF spokesman, that the terrorist carried out a shooting attack earlier today, when he fired at the 'Bird Meeting' complex at the Argaman Junction in the Valley of the Dead. The terrorist fired two shots into the air and one shot at a container. There were no casualties in the incident, and the shooting caused damage to the container.
Initially, there was suspicion that this was a criminal incident due to its initial characteristics, and security forces from the Valley and Valleys Brigade immediately began a pursuit of the terrorist. During the searches, the terrorist opened fire on forces from the Border Guard's Mitilan unit, who responded with fire and neutralized him.
Commander M., a team commander in the Judea and Samaria Border Police, who commanded the force during the clashes with the terrorist, said: "During the scans that were carried out after the terrorist's last indication in the orchards, we were encountered by the terrorist.".
Border Guard Commander, Superintendent Brick Yitzhak, praised the fighters: "You acted beyond expectations, you were encountered by a terrorist in the field, you courageously attempted to make contact and immediately returned fire, which brought the incident to a quick end.
