Uri Ozeri, an inspector in the Jerusalem Municipality, decided to waive a ticket for a vehicle parked in a red-and-white area, after the vehicle owner left a note explaining that he was forced to park illegally due to being late for his son's bar mitzvah celebration.

The note read: "Dear inspector, I have a Bar Mitzvah for my child. I've been looking for parking for a long time. Please consider me. I activated Pango.".

In an interview with News 12, the inspector said: "First of all, I saw a serious parking shortage. It was Rosh Chodesh that day. I read the note and it just did something to my heart, and I saw something real in it and I wanted the family to be happy - and I wasn't the one who would make them erase their smile with some report.".

He was asked whether the excuses would now become a trend - and replied: "We are attentive to all the criticisms and are aware of them, it was something I did out of my own discretion, every inspector has his own discretion. This is what I felt was right to do and I am okay with it. This is of course a one-time thing." .

Journalist Akiva Novik from HaTagid attacked the holding of the flattering interview: "In what part are they ripping off this brazen inspector? Anyone who invents family happiness now can park wherever they want?".

Journalist Bar Peleg, Haaretz's welfare and interior ministry correspondent, responded: "I received two police reports on the eve of my wedding when I returned home in a hurry to get an item I had forgotten (not the rings). It was a new police report and I didn't notice it. I appealed for the sake of sport with the story and evidence that I was telling the truth, but it didn't help. Some of the wedding money went to the municipality.".

On the other hand, there were those who responded: "Enough with the self-righteousness, it's also okay to just be nice from time to time.".
