According to the data, this month is an average of 1.5 degrees Celsius warmer than the average monthly temperature in the pre-industrial world between 1850-1900.

According to a report by Assaf Golan in Israel Hayom, another statistic cited by the forecasting center is related to sea surface temperatures that continued to be higher than average, a trend that has been seen since last April and peaked in July. Numerically, the average sea surface temperature last month was 0.51 degrees Celsius higher than the average for July between 1991-2020.

Copernicus also notes that in terms of the annual comparison of temperature averages so far, from January to July, the global average for 2023 is the third highest recorded: it is 0.43 degrees Celsius higher than 1991-2020, when there are two years warmer than it.

The first is 2016, when the annual average was 0.49 degrees Celsius higher than the 1991-2000 annual average, and the second was 2020, when the average degree was 0.48 degrees higher than the average.
