Chef and restaurateur Eyal Shani announced at noon (Monday) that he has decided to join the leftist protest - and close all of his restaurants in Israel tonight.

These professions are in high demand – and with high salaries. All the benefits of the program

Shani wrote on his Instagram account: "Amid all the protests in Israel, we decided tonight to close our restaurants in order to identify with the right of a person to live their private life as a free life without harming others.".

Shani's decision was not received with sympathy by all readers of the post, and it drew reactions for and against the decision.

""You lost the majority of the people, who democratically chose this," one user wrote to him.

Another commenter wrote to him: "Be what you want, but you are hurting your customers. A real cook and chef does not feed his customers according to a political moment, he should give with love to everyone regardless of religion, race, or gender, but you are a small person who just lost a follower and I believe I am not the only one.".

One of the followers wrote to him: "A very undemocratic move! You lost me and many others as customers, I hope this hurts your pocketbook.".

Another surfer wrote: "I didn't think someone who talks to a tomato and an apple would remain sane. It's a shame to bring political discourse into the frying pan.".

And a follower responded: "It's not even that I'm in favor of the reform, but it's amazing how democracy is only on one side of the political map.".

Among the reactions of those who announced that they would no longer eat at Shani's restaurants and defined the move as "shameful," there were also followers who supported him: "Well done, we'll come tomorrow and every day.".
