Extreme heat waves have been reported around the world since the beginning of last spring, and experts tend to agree that this is a growing phenomenon due to the human-caused climate crisis.

Even in Antarctica, which is now in winter, unusually high temperatures have been recorded, as glacier melting accelerates and the sun increases.

Jenny Miller, executive director of the Global Climate and Health Alliance, told the British Guardian that people around the world are already suffering from the effects of climate change, which are manifested in heat waves, fires, air pollution, floods and extreme storms.

Global warming, she claims, is exacerbating crop losses, the spread of infectious diseases, and the phenomenon of global migration.

The World Health Organization also declared extreme heat waves this week and warned of an escalation in the climate crisis. Another expert expressed hopelessness, saying that in his view this is one of many climate records to be set around the world.
