A 53-year-old Druze, a resident of the Beit Jan settlement, was arrested today (Sunday) on suspicion of sending threats against National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir - and calling for harm to be done to him.

At the time of his arrest, a pistol and a shotgun were seized from his possession, which he held with a license.

Due to the calls to harm meat, the police decided to revoke his license – and release him to his home after his interrogation under restrictive conditions.

Minister Ben Gvir attacked the decision and told his associates: "Not long ago, a citizen who sent a threatening letter to Bennett was arrested until the end of the proceedings and spent months in detention. Here, weapons were seized from the person making the threats and they are releasing him. Shocked. A delusional decision. Apparently my blood is less red than Bennett's.".

The office of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir published: "Last Friday, the Israel Police arrested a Druze citizen, a resident of Beit Jan, who sent murder threats against National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. The suspect was arrested and questioned by the police. A pistol and a hunting rifle were seized from the suspect's possession, which were held under a license; his license will be revoked. The suspect was released immediately after questioning under restrictive conditions.".

Earlier today, Ben Gvir responded to the prime minister's 'bite' at the start of the government meeting: "Our governance problem does not begin with settlers in Judea and Samaria, but with tolerance for rioters in the Golan Heights and the lack of enforcement in Rahat-Ani versus selective enforcement. A right-wing government must realize its vision, settlement in Judea and Samaria alongside zero tolerance towards those who threaten that if we do not grant their requests there will be war, Israel must not fold.".
