
Hundreds of fighters from Sayeret Givati, Maglan, Duvdevan units, Nahal's 50th Battalion, and the Border Guard raided the Balata camp in Nablus early Monday morning and destroyed an explosives laboratory for producing powerful charges.
An exchange of fire ensued at the scene, and the fighters returned fire at the terrorists who were shooting at them - killing three of them. Another Palestinian was critically wounded, and two were seriously wounded.
Palestinian media reported that more than 200 soldiers and 70 military vehicles arrived in the camp and searched dozens of civilian homes.
It was also reported that among the houses that were destroyed was the home of the wanted man, Abdullah Abu Shalal, a Palestinian intelligence officer and one of the leaders of the Balata Camp battalion, whom IDF forces have already tried to arrest four times without success.
During the operation in the Balata refugee camp, IDF forces arrested several wanted Palestinians, confiscated weapons and neutralized a laboratory for manufacturing explosive devices. No fighters were injured.
According to Palestinian reports, the terrorists killed in the operation were Fatah Jihad Abd al-Salam Rizq, 30, Abdullah Yusuf Muhammad Abu Hamdan, 24, and Muhammad Bilal Muhammad Zaitoun, 32.
