25-year-old from Betar Elite arrested: booked hundreds of passport issuance lines and sold

The cyber unit at Lahav 433 and the Defense Security Agency Security Commissioner (DSS) at the Ministry of Defense detained for questioning this morning (Sunday) a 25-year-old young man from Beitar Illit, an employee of a company that provides services to the Biological Institute in Ness Ziona, on suspicion of exploiting the Internet and computer system at his workplace at the institute, for the purpose of booking hundreds of lines for the issuance and illegal sale of passports.

The arrest was made after the cyber unit at Lahav 433, in cooperation with the Malmab investigations unit at the Ministry of Defense, opened an investigation about a month ago upon receiving information from the Malmab about an employee of a company that provides services to the Biological Institute in Ness Ziona, who is suspected of exploiting the Internet and the computer system at his workplace at the Biological Institute.

According to the suspicion, the company employee used the Internet and the computer system at the Biological Institute to schedule hundreds of queues for passport issuance - and later sold the queues in exchange for money.

Today, the investigation became public with the suspect's detention for questioning. He was brought in for questioning at the unit's offices, and at the conclusion of the interrogation, and based on its findings, he will be brought to the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court for a hearing on extending his detention.
