In the finale of the program "The Big Parent Test," which aired tonight (Saturday) on Keshet 12, the parents participating in the competition chose the educational method of Levi and Michal Halperin from Kfar Chabad as the winning method of the season.
The Halperin family, who educates "On the Path of Torah," competed in the reality show finals against the Tzabri family, who educates "On the Path of Training for Independence.".
Although parents Michal and Levi defined their method as authoritarian, Levi ultimately testified: "We learned from our method that we are not really that strict, and we are not that permissive either, we are balanced.".
Michal added to his words and concluded: "We are not perfect and I do not strive to be perfect, I do my best and try.".
''The Big Parent Test' is an international docu-reality show. It launched in Australia and later reached the US and the Netherlands - and caused a stir.
In Israel, the first season has now aired on Keshet 12.
Throughout the show's episodes, families - and viewers - were exposed to various educational methods, with the aim of examining what the best parenting style is.
In the program, eight pairs of parents with different parenting methods faced challenges from everyday life and through them tried to prove that their way was the best. The parents watched each other, criticized each other, and finally decided, tonight, who won.
The crucial test in the final forced the families to face a large number of challenges and took them out of their comfort zone and straight into nature.
The program was accompanied by psychologist Danny Friedlander and parent instructor Einat Nathan.
The program's Facebook account wrote after the broadcast:
""Champions???? After a turbulent and exciting season, the Halperin family (ultra-Orthodox - religious education with an authoritarian approach) is the winner of the # Big Parental Test???? What do you think of the win?""
Within a short time, hundreds of comments were posted, most of which complimented the family:
""Very nice," wrote a surfer. "Also good values, authority and a good relationship with the children. Here and there were situations that I liked less, like giving money for achievements.".
Tehila Edri responded: "A champion family!! They show exactly the beauty of religion, how much it is a rulebook for a good and correct life and not what this generation makes of it.".
And others commented: "Very happy to see that the lovely Halperin family won""
""This is Judaism!!! It's time for the media to stop demonizing the ultra-Orthodox society, which largely looks like the Halperin family. Unfortunately, there are unworthy people in all sectors.""
""They deserve it the most. They are given boundaries, values, and respect as they should be. I love them.""
""There is no doubt that religious education surpasses all other types of education. Good luck to this amazing family. Good luck. You deserve it.".
