MK Ahmed Tibi, chairman of the Ta'al faction, addressed today (Monday) during his faction's meeting in the Knesset the current opposition's conduct towards Netanyahu and his government.

Tibi: "The opposition in the Knesset is fragmented and riddled with holes. I have never seen bench players scoring an own goal in almost every half. This is the state of the opposition in the Knesset today. I remind everyone, in the previous Knesset we had the defendant bill, if the 'Coalition of Change' had supported it, we would be in a different situation today. And who opposed it? Lapid and Bennett because of Shaked's veto.

""We opposed the government then - and we will oppose any government that harms our public. The only opposition to Netanyahu today is the protesters, and it is much more organized and effective than the disintegrating technical opposition.".

Earlier, Lapid said about the absence of the Arab parties from the joint statement of the opposition leaders: "Abbas was invited and did not come because he did not feel well. He is still working full-time with the Likud - he is not part of the opposition.".

The leaders of the opposition parties, Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid, State Camp Chairman Benny Gantz, Yisrael Beytenu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman, and Labor Party Chairman Merav Michaeli, held a meeting this afternoon, at the end of which they declared: "The unity of the people begins with real dialogue, and as long as there is no halt to legislation, it is a show of hands. When the president's outline is laid out, we will be happy to address his proposal and we appreciate the president's efforts to reach a dialogue.".

""We will do everything to prevent the passage of the laws, but if, God forbid, we reach a third reading - we will not allow it and boycott the vote in the plenary.".
