MK Eliyahu Revivo of the Likud spoke this morning (Tuesday) with Anat Davidov and Guy Peleg on 103FM and was outraged by the media's use of the word "coup" in the context of the reform of the judicial system.
He attacked the broadcasters: "I am really outraged and I will not allow you to continue with this nonsense. After a whole day of being active and I have another whole day of work ahead of me, I am taking the time to talk to you and I will not accept this... I am fulfilling my public mission by being willing to withstand criticism and interviews. I will not be part of your incessant incitement system, in which you are the leaders. To say a coup, that is not a coup, that is legal reform.".
Guy Peleg intervened and said that they "believe this is a coup" - in response, Revivo replied: "Because you are a recruited media that does not do its job faithfully and acts from an agenda...".
Peleg: "You are a brave person, you are entering a minefield.".
Revivo: "I'm not afraid. Anyone who walks honestly and believes in their positions will say what's on their mind. Do we need courage? Courage. Oh, woe if we don't have courage.".
The argument between the parties became heated. MK Revivo responded to Peleg's words and said: "I also know how to end this interview. You will not despise us, and we will not allow you to be part of this consciousness engineering,",
In response, Davidov made it clear that they respect him. "This is not my first interview this morning. I was not interviewed by my friends in the right-wing camp, and yet the conversation was respectful, restrained," said MK Revivo.
Peleg later said that they think the reform in the judicial system is a "coup" - in response, Revivo attacked: "Oh, my God. You forgot your job. I didn't forget mine. You can and should interview me.".
Following this, Davidov said that she would not take it back, and because of this, Revivo said: "If you don't take it back, I'm not interested in being interviewed by you.".
