Last night (Thursday), the HaShomerim organization's hotline in Bnei Brak received a phone call from a woman who reported in a panic about a suspect trying to break down the door of her house.

Upon receiving the report, "Guardian" volunteers were called to the scene and caught the suspect "red-handed" with burglary tools, while he was tampering with the door of the woman's house.

The suspect tried to flee the scene and during his escape, he threw away a bag containing tens of thousands of shekels, thousands of dollars and a large quantity of an illegal drug, such as cocaine.

The suspect, a 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen who is staying in Israel illegally, was detained at the scene until the arrival of patrol officers from the Dan region, who took him to the police station for further questioning.

A decision will later be made whether to bring him before a judge to extend his detention.
