After the two viral episodes in the Jewish Joys series, which became part of the playlist sung in every Hasidic Jewish home, Gruman set a spotlight on Jewish life in the cycle of the year that we celebrate every month - "Rosh Chodesh.".
Sabar gleaned quite a few insights from the tremendous feedback he received after the launch of the previous episodes, including renowned halachic rabbis and influencers who asked him to utilize his status and influence to raise awareness of Rosh Chodesh, and to present, as only he knows how, the beautiful face of the experience that occurs on this day and its customs in every Jewish home.
Indeed, the decision to invite his friends to a "Rosh Chodesh meal" was a blessing in his heart, and the rest is history...
The first of the guests is none other than his longtime friend Aharleh Samet, known from previous episodes, after whom he made a surprise announcement by casting the child prodigy from the previous decade - Jonathan Sheinfeld. To them he adds the Hasidic manganist Shimon Davidovich.
These, alongside the festive children playing at home as they do every Rosh Chodesh afternoon, together illustrate the special nature of the day, Rosh Chodesh.
The Rosh Chodesh playlist opens with "Hudo Ha-Hashem" by Rabbi Ben Zion Shenkar, from there with a sharp transition to "Dodele" by Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev, composed by Rabbi Anshil Friedman, continuing with "Man Ha-Mitzer" by Rabbi Yosef Moshe Kahane and "Ana Hashem" by the Rebbe of Pittsburgh, and ending with a folk version of "Hillel," after which everyone breaks into a mitzvah dance with "Mizach Hadash" by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach.
