An embarrassing incident occurred last night (Thursday) during a meeting that Benjamin Netanyahu had with MK Tali Gottlieb.
As part of the distribution of portfolios and positions in the Likud, Netanyahu summoned Gottlieb, number 25 in the party, to a meeting during which he offered her the position of deputy minister. However, she refused the offer.
Reason: Wants to "act as a legislator" and insisted on being accepted as members of the Constitution Committee and the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee.
At the beginning of the meeting, Gottlieb noticed the presence of Tzachi Braverman, Netanyahu's chief of staff, and demanded that he be removed from the room.
As you may recall, the MK was furious with Braverman and Ikki Cohen, Netanyahu's confidants, who on the eve of her first speech in the Knesset demanded that she, she claimed, "be statesmanlike and soft." In the closed WhatsApp group, she claimed that the same conversation was leaked to journalist Ben Caspit, even though "the content of the conversation was known only to me and these two officials.".
And this is how the conversation went, according to a report by Dafna Liel on Channel 12:
Gottlieb: Mr. Prime Minister Tzachi cannot be at the meeting.".
Netanyahu: "He is present at all the meetings.".
Gottlieb: "I'm not willing for Ben Caspit's leaker to be at the meeting.".
Netanyahu: "He took a polygraph""
Gottlieb: "So show me the polygraph now.".
Netanyahu: "Okay, so he'll sit on the sidelines and just write down the minutes.".
