Four Likud MKs - David Bitan, David Amsalem, Danny Danon and Israel Katz - are threatening that if Netanyahu removes them from the dispute over the files, they will thwart the passage of laws. This was reported this evening (Sunday) by Michael Shemesh on 'Kan News'.
According to the report, in the first stage, Knesset members will thwart the Norwegian law and then, when they seize positions of power in the Knesset, they will try to thwart Netanyahu's legislation.
However, the Knesset members, who are defined as "disappointed with Netanyahu," have no plan to harm the legislation of their political partners.
The one who was quick to deny the news that there would be an internal rebellion in Likud if he did not receive a ministerial position in the new government was MK David Amsalem, who tweeted on his Twitter account, alongside a photo of himself with Netanyahu:
""Neither sun nor star, neither bears nor flies, it's all an industry of absurd and delusional lies! Netanyahu is the undisputed leader of the Likud - there will be no rebels and there will be no factions within factions! We are all together a Likud faction that is united and stronger than ever. You will not quarrel or separate us!""
""Neither sun nor star, neither bears nor flies," MK Dudi Amsalem tweeted this evening, slamming the door on those who were building on him to defect or establish Kadima 2.
""Don't quarrel...between us""
To be honest, for days now, the top brass has been asking him to tweet something similar, and so far, he has refrained. Is it possible that tonight he was promised the position of the next Knesset Speaker? Minister of Justice?... pic.twitter.com/3pApYdILSd— Sari Rot (@sari_rot) December 4, 2022
MK David Bitan of the Likud, who in recent days has voiced sharp criticism of Netanyahu's conduct in the coalition negotiations in a series of interviews, also made it clear this evening that he does not intend to leave the party.
""The difficulty in concluding the negotiations is a sign of things to come. There are going to be quite a few problems in the incoming coalition. The problems will not come from within the Likud, but from the rest of the partnership," he claimed on Kol Berama radio.
Regarding the Likud's desire to enact a law that would eliminate the possibility of four MKs splitting - Bitan responded: "I have no problem with Netanyahu eliminating the split issue altogether. I was born in the Likud and I will remain in the Likud. What does that give him? It just shows that he is under pressure.".
