While government members were busy discussing the signing of the gas agreement with Lebanon: A lone IDF soldier, who was on a family vacation in Uzbekistan and boarded a connecting flight, made an emergency landing on Iranian soil last week. This was permitted for publication today (Wednesday) by the military censor. The Haredi 10 reporter notes that the soldier serves in one of the regional commands in a non-sensitive position. According to a report in 'Kan News', information about the landing of the plane with the soldier reached the office of Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi - who involved the offices of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense. Defense Minister Benny Gantz, who was visiting Ankara at the time, was updated by his military secretary. After a few hours, a sigh of relief was released in the security and political leadership, when the soldier took off from Iranian soil. The soldier took off late at night from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to Dubai in the Emirates, on a plane operated by the Emirati airline 'Fly Dubai'. However, during the flight, a passenger felt unwell, which led to a change in the planned flight path. The chosen destination was the nearest airport - the airport in the city of Shiraz in Iran. The plane landed in the Islamic Republic on Thursday morning at 5:00 AM. Only after 10 hours on the ground, the plane took off from Iran for Dubai. The IDF is reviewing the flight procedures of soldiers.
