In honor of the Sukkot holiday of the year of the "Congregation" 583, Hasidic singer Simcha Friedman and musician Ami Cohen are reviving the song "Congregation", which they released together in an acoustic version 7 years ago - in the previous "Congregation" year.

The original song received a new, electronic and up-to-date arrangement, to suit the ears of 2013, combining musical motifs from the previous arrangement.

The arrangement is jointly responsible for the musicians and arrangers Shmuel Yefet and Ami Cohen.

Along with the renewed song, an energetic, colorful and vibrant music video is also being released, directed and edited by Shruly Broncher and filmed by Yitzhak Kalman.

And in case you're asking yourself: "What is 'the audience'"?

The lyrics of the song are taken from a passage in which the Torah commands the holding of a "congregation" ceremony in the Temple once every 7 years, at the end of the year of Shemitah during the Feast of Sukkot. At the special ceremony, attended by all the people of Israel, men, women, and children, the King of Israel would stand on the dais in the Temple, read from the Torah, and then explain the contents to the audience. The goal was to unite the people, inspire them to fear and love God, and strengthen them in keeping the commandments.

Just as then, today too, it is possible to 'remember' the commandments of the congregation. To gather, unite, and stir the hearts of the people of Israel with joy. This is exactly what Simcha Friedman is trying to do in the new music video.
