The 'Honenu' organization has asked the police to investigate an attack on a young Jewish man that occurred earlier this week at the Cotton Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, while he was praying near the Temple Mount.

As a result of the attack, the young Jewish man suffered very deep cuts to his face, around his eye, jaw, and ear. He began to bleed heavily and lost a lot of blood, which dripped onto his clothes. The Jew called the rescue forces, who evacuated him to Shaare Zedek Hospital, where he was hospitalized and required more than 20 stitches to his face.

The attack occurred as the victim was walking as usual around the gates of the Temple Mount for a prayer circle. When he reached the Gate of Purity and prayed there, an Arab approached him and began cursing and pushing him.

Meanwhile, other Arabs who were on the roof of a nearby house filled buckets of water and poured it on the victim.

The victim, feeling increasingly threatened, called the police and reported what was happening. Immediately afterwards, the Arabs began to push the victim out of the place, while in the meantime the first attacker arrived with a glass bottle and forcefully threw the glass bottle directly at the victim's face, shattering it on his face. As a result, the Jew was injured and required dozens of stitches to his face.

When the victim arrived to file a complaint about the assault at the police station, relatives of the suspect in the assault were waiting for him outside the police station and began threatening and cursing him.

Attorney Haim Bleicher of Mehonu, who is accompanying the victim, wrote to the police and demanded that they open an investigation into the incident and investigate it as a terrorist attack.

In his letter, Attorney Bleicher wrote: "This is a shocking terrorist attack. Throwing a glass bottle at a person's head is a life-threatening act that, God forbid, could have ended tragically. I would like to ensure that the detainee remains in custody until the end of the proceedings against him, and that a serious indictment be filed against him for a terrorist act of attempted murder or, more unfortunately, a terrorist act of sabotage with aggravated intent.".

""Secondly, I will ask that the other participants in the attack be located and that they be brought to justice for the attacks they committed, and for their joint complicity in the actions of the arrested attacker.".
