Alternate Prime Minister Yair Lapid addressed the issue of bringing forward the elections and dissolving the government this morning (Wednesday) at the Eli Hurwitz Conference on Economy and Society of the Israel Democracy Institute.

Lapid claimed that "the most powerful man in the opposition today is not Bibi Netanyahu, he is Itamar Ben-Gvir. Ben-Gvir's message is simple and violent. He says: no democratic state, no liberal values, no moderation, no rule of law - only racist nationalism.".
He added: "Most Israelis want to live together in peace. They don't want a government here that is based on violence and hatred. They know that not only does democracy protect them, they also have to protect democracy.".

Look what they did to Naftali Bennett this year. A good man, a good Israeli, a good prime minister. Look at the amounts of poison they poured on him.".
Otzma Yehudit Chairman MK Itamar Ben-Gvir said in response to Lapid's words: "Look who's talking! Lapid, who appointed Walid Taha, who wants to throw LGBT people off rooftops and murder IDF soldiers, as chairman of the Interior Committee, and who is trying to springboard his coalition on supporters of the Tibi and Odeh terror, is the last one who can preach morality.".
""This man, who sold the country to supporters of terrorism, who has no word to the voter that he has not broken - a government of 18 ministers, a Norwegian law, a minister without portfolio, an alternate prime minister, coalition funds, jobs for cronies, waste of public funds, raising taxes, the cost of living, personal security, political blackmail, will not succeed in winning over the Israeli voter again.".
Likud responds to Minister Lapid: "The powerful people in Lapid's government will be Mansour Abbas and the Muslim Brotherhood, and Ahmed Tibi and the Joint List.
