The Rebbe of Vizhnitz protested against the violence: After all circles of Haredi Judaism have expressed since last Saturday night their disgust at the violent campaign by hundreds of Gur Hasidim against members of the community of the Gur yeshiva head, Rabbi Alter, a public protest is coming this evening (Saturday) from the Rebbe of Vizhnitz.

During a third meal at the large Beit Midrash in Kiryat Vizhnitz in Bnei Brak, the Rebbe strongly protested against Hasidim who raise their hands against one another.

The Rebbe of Vizhnitz told his followers: "When someone speaks about me, it is forbidden to give up. The followers protested the honor of the Rebbe, but when talking about the Rebbe, there is no such thing as giving up. We have never heard of giving up.".

The Rebbe said that in the case of his old man, the author of Torat Chaim, there was a case where a Hasid protested against his honor and was sentenced to prison. "When the Hasid came to mention his plight to the Rebbe, he replied: They put you in prison for a month, I would have put you in prison for three months.".

The Rebbe of Vizhnitz did speak about an incident that occurred in the Vizhnitz Beit Midrash in Beitar Illit, when someone spoke against the Rebbe and as a result, a commotion broke out - but sources in Vizhnitz say that he was referring to the violent campaign of the Gur Hasidim last Shabbat.

The same sources note that the Rebbe even asked that his words be published to the general public.
